How does it work?
When the needle tip makes contact with the skin, it creates tiny punctures in the surface, causing the creation of new, healthy collagen. Through this process of neovascularisation and neocollagenesis, there is improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as a reduction in scars and pore size.
The punctures also act as micro-channels, carrying the topical nutrients used during the treatment deep into the skin layers for increased effect.
What skin conditions is needling suitable for?
Skin needling is suitable for all skin types. Whilst the most common concerns include ageing, wrinkles and post-acne scars, more challenging indications such as acne, alopecia, rosacea, stretch marks, pigmentation and even vitiligo can be treated easily.
How will my skin be post treatment?
The skin appears a little red following a Dermapen™ treatment, looking and feeling like a mild to moderate sunburn. There is never any bruising or scabs. Unlike resurfacing laser treatments which can only be performed on certain skin colours, Dermapen™ may be performed on all skin colours and all ages. Special healing make-up may even be applied immediately after treatment, so you are comfortable to continue on with your day.
How does Dermapen Skin Needling compare to laser treatment?
The Dermapen produces similar, if not better, results to a fractional laser. Unlike laser treatments, there is no risk of hyper or hypo-pigmentation and there is no downtime.
